When the project-support was granted 1st October 2005 from DANIDA via Projektraadgivningen a modest part of the funds were earmarked for renovation and accommodation of the existing facilities’ suitability to conduct sound and effective new and modern evidence-based addiction treatment based on the 12-step program. Among other major renovations the whole ground at the center were lifted about 40 cm in order to avoid the repeatedly occurrence of flooding. Consequently the roof had to be proportionally lifted. A lot of the work was carried out by voluntary man power from the patients group.
